2025 Friends of the Family Dinner
The Maryland Family Institute invites you to the 2025 Friends of the Family Banquet, a gathering of leaders, supporters, and families committed to strengthening Maryland communities.
This year, we are honored to welcome Dr. Ben Carson, neurosurgeon, author, statesman, and former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, as our keynote speaker. His inspiring story of perseverance, faith, and leadership has impacted millions.
Dr. Carson rose from poverty in Detroit to become one of the world’s leading neurosurgeons at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he pioneered groundbreaking procedures such as the successful separation of conjoined twins. Over the course of his distinguished medical career, he earned international recognition for his skill and compassion in the operating room. Beyond medicine, he is the author of several bestselling books, including the widely acclaimed Gifted Hands, which chronicles his journey of faith, perseverance, and resilience. Dr. Carson has also served at the highest levels of public life, including as the 17th U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Today, his life story continues to inspire generations to pursue excellence, grounded in determination, character, and unwavering faith.
