Rooted ultimately in the truth of Christ, genuine freedom is the condition in which human flourishing can thrive. Freedom to pursue the good, to express one’s deepest convictions, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, and to enjoy the fruit of one’s labor. Freedom depends on the virtues and values rooted in religious tradition, which makes civil society possible.
