Annapolis, MD — (MFI) The Maryland Family Institute has filed a formal complaint with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights against Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) for violations of Title IX. You can read the complaint letter here.
The following statements can be attributed to Jeff Trimbath, President of Maryland Family Institute:
“Parents across Maryland are right to be outraged. Schools are supposed to partner with families to protect children—not override parental concerns and push controversial gender ideology onto students. The Maryland Family Institute will stand with parents and daughters who are demanding safe, sex-specific bathrooms and private spaces.”
Given the actions of AACPS in flouting federal law, we had no choice but to file this complaint. Title IX exists to ensure equal protection and privacy for female students, and we are asking the Office for Civil Rights to investigate and enforce the law until AACPS changes course.
